Angioneurotic Edema is a swelling of the lower layer of the skin/mucous membrane and is a very common presentation in clinical practice specially in children. This is generally an allergic reaction to the agents like Insect bites, Food or Medication. Can be presented over skin of face, around eyes, lips, tongue, throat/Pharynx, Penis(specially in children). This can occur elsewhere in the body. Swelling is usually painful and itchy and may remain from minutes to some hours. Can be fatal if swollen pharynx/throat obstructs airway and remain undiagnosed.

In my practice I observed this mostly in children over specially around eyes, lips and penis.
